[rl with remus -- together again]

Sirius was not someone who was easily nervous. It was part of being the ever-cocky Gryffindor -- he had enough ego and enough stupidity not to let himself be afraid of anything.

But...this was different.

It had surprised and delighted him when Remus said that he wanted to be with him again. He didn't mind promising to take it at Remus' pace, because it still meant they were together again. That aching, nagging feeling of loss that had been with him since that one night when he'd sent Snape to the Shack was gone. He loved Remus more than he could comprehend, and having the sentiment returned was more than he deserved.

So it left him with some nervousness now that it was their first night...well, alone together since their split. They were walking through the hidden passageway to the Shrieking Shack, and in Sirius' chest, his heart pounded like a furious drum. He wasn't sure what would happen or what Remus would want, but he didn't care so long as he was with him.

As they walked through the passage, Sirius' fingers stayed interlaced with Remus' the entire way there.

[fail private to Remus]

Hey, Remus.

...when you get a chance, is it okay if I talk to you?

Nothing urgent, I just -- there's some things I want to say.

[RL with Remus]

Sirius felt a little bit guilty for this. What he was planning was, essentially, a surprise attack. And Remus was probably going to flail like crazy, but. They needed to talk. And Remus had been making it really really difficult to get the chance to talk to him alone.

He knew Remus had been sneaking up to the dorms after everyone else had fallen asleep. So, to make sure he didn't, he'd chugged about three mugs' worth of coffee before he'd headed up, so he wouldn't accidentally drift off. He lay on his mattress, feigning sleep with his face down in the pillow, but his brain was so wired he knew he wasn't going to sleep anytime soon. The insomnia was going to suck, but it would be worth it.

He wondered when Remus would finally come up to bed.

[Private | Unhackable]

Moony still isn't talking to me.

I don't get it, I really don't. He says it's something that would make me not want to be friends with him, but that he didn't hurt anybody or anything...not that I ever thought Remus would, but I can't think of anything else that he'd think would make me want to avoid him.

I really hate this. I wish he would just tell me; he assumes I'm going to be mad when I bet it's not even that bad. Like when he came out of the closet. He thought I was gonna hate him, and of course I don't, but Moony freaks out about stuff too much.

Still, figuring out what's going on is killing me. I thought it was that I did something to upset him, but he said he wasn't mad, and I think he's telling the truth. He doesn't act mad, just awkward and stammery and blushing, like a schoolgirl with a cru

[RL with Remus]

Remus was acting weird. He was sure of that much. He'd been avoiding Sirius as much as he possibly could ever since the full moon, and tried to keep away from talking to him or making eye contact as much as possible. Sirius had thought Remus was okay with how things had happened during the full moon -- he'd seemed okay with it, anyhow, after his transformation. But now he was acting upset. And bizarrely enough, he was only acting upset towards Sirius, and not James.

He sat in the Gryffindor Common Room, cutting History of Magic so he could be around when he knew Remus would have a study break. Sirius could handle getting a detention from Prof. Binns. He was more focused on finding out what was happening with Moony.

[RL with Remus]

Sirius was in the Gryffindor common room during one of his study breaks, sitting in one of the armchairs with his books out. He was supposed to be writing a History of Magic essay on the Goblin Wars of South-East Asia, but every time he tried to read another page's worth of information he felt his eyes drooping. Quidditch practice the previous night had been intense, and History of Magic was just. so. boring.

He leaned his head against the the chair. Closing his eyes for a few seconds wouldn't do any damage, right?

[backdated two days]

Gahhhhhh I don't want to go back home for the summer.

I know that sounds ridiculous, but I really really really would prefer to just stay at Hogwarts for the next two months if it meant not spending eight weeks at Grimmauld Place.

Moony, I think I have a plan: I'll convince my parents I'm doing some study-abroad thing in...I don't know, China, and then I'll just hide at you and Prongs' places. Or, you know, set up a shack on the beach. Brilliant plan, yeah?

RL with Remus

They day after the virus, Sirius was in the Gryffindor dormitory, curtains to his bed drawn. Inside, he was supposedly working on an essay that was due for Prof. Flitwick about Summoning Magic, and he did indeed have his books open and a quill scrawling across parchment. However, his handwriting had devolved into illegible blots of ink and long scratches that nearly tore through the page. Sirius barely seemed to notice.

He hadn't talked to Remus or James or Peter or really anyone since waking up that morning. It was plain he was in a terrible mood, but he refused to let anyone in on what had happened. Even alone in his room, he glared at the paper.
